Samsung NC10 Review

The Samsung NC10 isn’t particuarly
ground breaking from a style point of view.
The compact design on this 10.2″ netbook
has been well though out though and is available in black, blue pink and white colours.

The NC10 feels solid and robust in the hand. The battery sticks out of the bottom and
adds 5mm to the overall depth, but when resting on a table it means the screen and
keyboard tilt to a more ergonomic position.
When it comes to performance, you’ll find the NC10 packs in the now standard
Intel Atom N270 processor and 1024MB of memory. The 160GB hard drive is
partitioned into two equal-sized portions and offers plenty of space for your files.

The 10.2-inch screen has the standard 1024 x 600-pixel resolution, so images
are a good size. As a result, and as with all Netbooks, you’ll still need to scroll
sideways to view most web pages.
What really makes this Netbook stand out is the sheer quality of the keyboard. It
fills the entire width of the 260mm chassis and the keys are 95 per cent full-sized.
The keystroke is quite short, but the keys feel incredibly sturdy as you type and you’ll
soon find yourself typing with relative ease. The touchpad is rather small and
the use of a dual-click single-strip mouse button will have its detractors, but we
found overall navigation was easy.
Battery life is also a key factor and Samsung has managed to deliver. In
standard mode, we managed to get 298 minutes, which is impressive.
The Samsung NC10 takes its design cues from the opposition, but still
manages to improve on them in terms of finish and performance.

Just took delivery of the NC10, in blue. Got it from Amazon as chepeast and I had a voucher. Arrived yesterday and I was online within about an hour of opening the box. Keyboard on this is much better than say an ASUS eePC or to be honest my much more expensive laptop (battery life is unreal). My mate has one also and has said not to bother upgrading the memory. If you get a Samsung NC10 you won’t regret it, unless you get the pink one ;)

Had the NC10 (black) since Christmas. Doesn’t seem to have dropped in price much yet as it’s so popular I guess.

Battery life is amazing compared to my ASUS laptop. I can get 6 hours, probably more out of it. Keyboard is great – a massive plus compared to some other netbooks.

I use it with 3 broadbrand – on the train – out and about and just love it. Exactly what I wanted as so much lighter than a laptop. I’m normally a Sony man but will probably buy more Samsung products after this experience with the NC 10.
